New construction continues in Bixby. The most recent example is The Vineyard, an upscale shopping center to open in March 2014, on Memorial Drive, just east of Lifetime Fitness.
“We love to add new concepts and businesses in new shopping centers,” says Steve Walman, head of Walman Commercial Real Estate Services, who is in charge of leasing for the building.
An example of such nuanced selection in placing the right business in the right place is La Crêpe Nanou – a romantic neighborhood French bistro, specializing in savory and sweet crêpes. “Nobody does crêpes in this market, and it should create some excitement,” he says.
The Wine Loft is slated to occupy The Vineyard as well as Children’s Learning Center, providing unique youth care and development opportunities for families. Heartland Dental and Sports Clips are also planned tenants.
With a dozen retailers and restaurants in the process of finalizing deals for the first phase of The Vineyard, Walman is confident the new complex will serve Bixby well with convenient upscale options for both Bixby and Tulsa residents. Locals can also expect the growth to continue for several years, with plans for a second phase of The Vineyard currently being discussed.
