Bixby North Elementary and Intermediate PTA is set to host its third annual Agora Spartan Craft Market fundraising event on Saturday, April 8, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will be held in the Intermediate’s gymnasium at 7701 E. 121st St. S.
In ancient Greece, an agora was the community marketplace or public square. Similarly, the third annual Agora Spartan Craft Market will serve as its own marketplace, hosting more than 80 vendors.

Vendors will come from Bixby and the Tulsa area, selling everything from jewelry and candles to seasonal home décor, ceramics, cosmetics, woodworking, and kids’ apparel and accessories.

The vendors will offer one-of-a-kind items that serve as great gifts for family, teachers or friends, says Sarah Morgan, president of Bixby PTA.

As a change from the event’s two previous years, however, the market will be offered in a larger space to accommodate more vendors this year.

“Our community has so much talent and passion for our students and staff,” says Morgan. “With so much participation the last two years, we decided to open the intermediate’s gym.”

Proceeds from the event will go toward funding teacher grants that cannot be funded by current public school funding but will enhance the classroom experience for their students, Morgan continues.

Bixby PTA will also sell raffle tickets leading up to the event for the chance to win a large porch swing and child’s double chair, donated from 3rd Life Wood Products. Tickets are currently on sale.

“We’re so excited to have back so many of our participating vendors from last year and so excited to see what new vendors sign up,” says Jackie Stevens, Agora Spartan Craft Market chairman. “We raised more than $2,500 which surpassed our goal, and we’re excited to see what this year holds from our talented community.”

Participating vendors to date include Scentsy, His Floral Designs, Simply Splendor Home Decor, Matilda Jane, Younique, Roark Acres Honey Farm, Sisto’s Stitches, The Wright Designs Jewelry, Katherine with Rodan & Fields, Kairos 10, 3rd Life Wood Products, Dimple Toes, Kiln Arts of Tulsa, Vintage Junkies Boutique, Deep Fork Pecans, Armidillo Pillow, Jones of All Trades, Okie Jewels & Boutique, Shabby Mac Steel, and Share Joy Home Décor.

Doors will open at 9 a.m., and the event is free to the public. Concessions will be available from Goodcents that will be selling sandwiches, drinks and other items at the Elementary and Rocco’s Food Truck at the Intermediate.

To keep the young ones occupied, Kiln Arts of Tulsa will be offering a “Make & Take” ceramic booth.
