NSUBA Presents Free Biology, Chemistry Series

Northeastern State University Broken Arrow has begun its fall 2017 Biology and Chemistry Seminar Series. The free, open-to-the-public series runs through December.

The seminar is presented by the NSU Greg Wadley College of Science & Health Professions and arranged by Dr. Sapna Das-Bradoo, associate professor of molecular biology.

Its September presentation, “Foodborne pathogens in retail liver: From detection to genomics,” was presented by Dr. Mohamed Fakhr, of the University of Tulsa.

On Oct. 27, Dr. Ronald Halterman, from the University of Oklahoma, will present “The chemistry of coffee.” This session will be hosted by NSU faculty member Dr. Nathan Green.

The third seminar in the series will be held Dec. 1, titled “Ulcerative colitis: Can we target glutaminase to reduce visceral pain?.” It will be presented by Dr. Subhas Das, from Oklahoma State University’s Center for Health Sciences and will be hosted by Das-Bradoo.

Each one-hour lecture begins at 10 a.m. in the Administrative Services Building, Room 141 (Auditorium), on the NSUBA campus. Complimentary cookies and coffee will be provided for guests.
