Hillcrest South: Top Place to Work

Hillcrest Hospital South, 8801 S. 101st E. Ave., was recently named one of the “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” by Becker’s Healthcare. The list features both U.S. health care provider organizations, such as hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgical centers and home health agencies, as well as other types of healthcare-specific companies, like consulting firms, health IT vendors, medical societies and more.

“What an incredible honor it is to be named to this distinguished list, recognizing the culture we’ve developed at Hillcrest Hospital South,” says Lynn Mergen, chief executive officer of Hillcrest Hospital South. “This recognition is a testament to our team and their commitment to our patients and each other.”

Hillcrest Hospital South educates its team around the hospital’s mission through an innovative program called “Our Why, Our Way (OWOW).” Through the OWOW program, employees engage around the hospital’s strategic pillars through innovative activities throughout the year.

Hillcrest Hospital South encourages its team to support the south Tulsa community and surrounding suburbs. Hillcrest Hospital South employees recently organized collection drives for Broken Arrow Neighbors and Bixby Outreach Center, and Hillcrest South is proud to support local events in 2017, including the Broken Arrow Seniors Resource and Health Fair and as presenting sponsor of the Bixby BBQ’n Blues Festival with the Rotary Club of Bixby.

“One of my favorite things about working at Hillcrest Hospital South is that it feels like family. I know not only people on my floor but also nurses in other departments and employees in non-clinical areas. We all work together as a team and I love working in a place like that,” says Jennifer Plett, RN, BSN, a nurse in the hospital’s cardiac unit.

Hillcrest HealthCare System’s Bailey Medical Center in Owasso also made this year’s “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” list.

Hillcrest Hospital South is a 180-bed acute care medical center, offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including maternity, cardiology, emergency, orthopedics and surgery.
