Former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating, right, was honored June 22 at the Greenwood Cultural Center’s annual Legacy Awards banquet. At left is this year’s honorary chair Howard G. Barnett, Jr., president of OSU-Tulsa and in the center is Dwayne Midget of the City of Tulsa. Keating served as Oklahoma’s governor from 1995 to 2003 and was instrumental in creating the legislative committee to study Tulsa’s 1921 race riot. He also was governor during the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. The Legacy Awards banquet is an annual fundraiser for the Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 N. Greenwood Ave.
