Kumon Math and Reading Opens in Owasso


LEARNING ENRICHMENT: The first Kumon Math and Reading Center in Owasso recently opened at 13720 E. 86th St. N.

Kumon Math and Reading program, has expanded into Owasso with the opening of a franchised learning center at 13720 E. 86th St. N.

There are currently 12 Kumon Math and Reading centers in the state of Oklahoma, including five in the Greater Tulsa area. The first center opened in Tulsa in 2002.

The Kumon Method is based around empowering children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. The learning method uses an individualized approach that helps children develop a solid command of math and reading skills. Kumon is designed to spark critical thinking, establish a pattern of success and build confidence that can lead to accelerated learning throughout life.

The program is available for all students from preschool to high school ages.

Kumon Franchisees must have a four-year college degree, be proficient in math and reading, and have investment capital of $70,000 and a net worth of at least $150,000.

Founded in 1958, Kumon has over four million students enrolled in nearly 25,000 learning centers in 50 countries and regions. Kumon North America is headquartered in Teaneck, New Jersey.
