B.A. Resident Recognized for Quality Work by HBA

COMMERCIAL PROJECT: Broken Arrow resident Mike Fournier was recognized by the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa for his commercial vignette build-out, located inside of a new Metro Appliances store, and for his use of 18 HBA associate member companies on the project.

Broken Arrow resident Mike Fournier, founder and owner of The Sonrise Companies, was recently named the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa’s 2017 Spirit Award honoree. He received the recognition for his construction of a commercial vignette build-out for Samsung inside of a new Metro Appliances store.

In 1989, the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa began recognizing builders who made the best use of HBA Associate member companies to complete their homes. The Spirit Award is one of the HBA of Greater Tulsa’s highest honors, as it symbolizes the relationship between the contractor and the subcontractor and how important it is when building a home to use qualified craftsmen and suppliers.

Fournier utilized 18 associate member companies on the project and 98 associate members for other projects throughout the year.

The Samsung Smart Things Home technology center hub was incorporated into the design of the project, which allowed special Smart Things lighting, appliances, a tablet, HVAC and living room entertainment to be centrally programmed and controlled via the tablet and/or smart phone. In addition, a laundry room with sound, television and fireplace were included in the project.

Fournier has received other HBA recognitions, including the 2016 Top Member Recruiter, Top Recruiter for the HBA Remodelers Council and the 2016 Spike of the Year Award. He also received the May 2017 National Remodeler of the Month Award. He has served and chaired the 2017 Education Committee, Secretary of the HBA Remodelers Council and currently serves on the HBA Board of Directors, Budget and Finance Committee and Public Relations Committee. Additionally, he is the current chair of the 2018 Greater Tulsa Parade of Homes and vice president/secretary of the association.
