Route 66 to Rock and Roll with MidLife Crises Band

On Saturday, Feb. 16, Tulsa Route 66 Main Street will be shakin’ it up as two of Tulsa’s greatest assets collide. The Fabulous MidLife Crisis Band will be performing on historic Route 66 at this year’s annual East Meets West event, “Rockin’ and Rollin’ on Route 66.”

The party takes place at 6 p.m. at OSU-Center for Health Sciences, 1111 W. 17th St. in Tulsa. Party events include swing dance lessons, dinner, a cash bar and some of the best classic rock n’ roll you ever danced to.

Proceeds from the event will support projects within the main street corridor which runs along historic Route 66, “The Mother Road,” from the famous span over the Arkansas River along Southwest Boulevard west to the edge of Tulsa.

Tulsa Route 66 Main Street, a 501©3 non-profit organization, combines historic preservation and revitalization efforts with economic stimulation. Organized in 2007, the program has served as a catalyst for revitalization through facade improvement grants, beautification projects including a pocket park and landscaping in the historic Red Fork district, and working with the city to improve the corridor with sidewalks, signage and art.

The event chair is Debbi Viuf. Committee members include Sara Cagle, Sandi Dittman, Cassie Flynn, Janifer Hilton, Dana Hoey, Linda Jordan, Jan Lamberton, Gary Percefull, Bria Taylor, Steve Trickett, Donna Savage and Jody Vivion.

Tickets are $66 per person. Purchase at rockinonroute66.eventbrite.com or by check. Checks should be made payable to Tulsa Route 66 Main Street and mailed to: P.O. Box 570978, Tulsa, OK 74157. To sponsor a table, call 918-445-4457.
