OPS Receives Donation

OEF GIVES: In March, the Owasso Education Foundation (OEF) gave just over $31,000 to Owasso Public Schools to fund teacher grants. For the 2016-2017 school year, OEF has given more than $80,000 to Owasso Public Schools teachers, to benefit students and the community, says OEF Executive Director Stephanie Horne, second from left. Owasso Schools Launch New Plan

The 2016-2017 school year began the first year of Owasso Public Schools’s five-year strategic plan, which will continue through 2022.

The plan was created with the help of a committee of more than 100 people from all areas of the community in order to bring variety to the table and to hear what they want, says School Superintendent Dr. Clark Ogilvie.

Owasso Grad Oversees Squadron

Lt. j.g. Zack Repp, a 2009 Owasso High School graduate and Owasso native, is serving in the U.S. Navy with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 126. Repp works with the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Squadron, VAW 126, also known as “Seahawks,” operating out of Norfolk, Virginia.

FIRST PLACE: In October, the Pride of Owasso won first place at the 34th Annual Renegade Review Marching Band Championship at Union High School. The event featured marching bands from both Oklahoma and surrounding states.

Rejoice Schools Opens Middle, High School

On Aug. 16, middle and high school students at Rejoice Christian Schools were welcomed on their first day of school to the brand new, multi-million dollar Rejoice Christian Schools (RCS) middle and high school campus, at 13407 E. 106th St. N.
The campus sits on a total of 65 acres of land, with Rejoice’s elementary school to the west.

The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence recently recognized three Owasso High School graduates as 2016 academic all-staters: Morghan Cyr, Eden Letzkus and Brad Woolery. These students were among 100 Oklahoma public school seniors to receive this recognition.
