BIKES FOR KIDS: Union High School manufacturing and automotive students participated in the third annual Bikes for Kids holiday project in December, where they repaired or refurbished donated bicycles. The bicycles were then given to a local family in need for the holiday season. Pictured are, from left, seniors Will Ramsey, Alex Benton and Edwin Rodarte.
The students are part of Union’s Certified Production Technician Manufacturing program, which is now being funded by OK2Grow and Dream It Do with the help of a matching grant from the Schusterman Family Foundation.
The Bikes For Kids project is a collaboration of business and educational partners, including the City of Tulsa City’s Asset Management Department, City of Tulsa Fleet, City Cycles, APSCO, EBSCO and International Insurance Brokers, LTD.
