OFE Honors All-State Winners

Three Union High School seniors have been named 2018 Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence (OFE) Academic All-State winners: Joshua Anderson, Ferdinand Mudjialim and Josephine Uerling. They are three of 100 winners, selected from 536 nominations throughout Oklahoma.

Anderson holds a 4.0 cumulative GPA. He is a National Merit Commended Scholar, received the Director’s Honor Roll for the Tulsa Tech STEM Academy for the 2016-2017 school year, and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and the National Honor Society.

He is an Eagle Scout, a two-year section leader in the Union High School Renegade Regiment, a four-year member of the Union all-school musical pit orchestra, and is member of the Union High School First Robotics team Ubotics.

Mudjialim holds a 5.06 cumulative GPA. He was elected into the National Technical Honor Society and is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a National Merit Semifinalist.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Academic Team and Mu Alpha Theta and is president of the Modern Issues in Technology organization.

Uerling’s cumulative GPA is 5.06. She is a National Merit Semifinalist, National French Contest Gold Medalist, Miss Union Royalty, an AP Scholar with Distinction, and Homecoming Queen.

She has been both swimming and playing piano for 10 years. She is a Red Cross volunteer and a member of the National Honor Society and Interact Club.

The students will receive a $1,000 merit-based scholarship and a medallion. They will be recognized at the foundation’s 32nd annual Academic Awards Banquet on May 19, to be held in Norman.
