66ers Acquire Wink Adams out of Free Agency
The Tulsa 66ers have announced that the team has acquired free agent guard Wink Adams. The team is hoping Adams will fill the shoes of Mustafa Shakur down the home stretch. Shakur was called up to the Thunder on a 10 day contract recently.
The 66ers are currently positioned to be able to make the playoffs, but they must continue to win.
Adams, a 6-0 guard, played most recently in Turkey, where he averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 18 games. Adams participated in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in 2009 as a member of the New York Knicks.
Adams played at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and averaged 14.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 133 games over four seasons for the Rebels. Adams was named to the 2008-09 All-Mountain West Conference First Team and All-Mountain West Tournament MVP during his senior season.
