66ers Earn Victory Over Legends
FRISCO, Texas, Jan. 1, 2011 — Elijah Millsap posted 17 points, Marcus Lewis collected a team-high nine rebounds and Cole Aldrich added six points and eight boards to lead the Tulsa 66ers (10-6) to a 99-94 road victory over the Texas Legends (8-6) Saturday evening inside Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco.
Also in double digit scoring for Tulsa was Robert Vaden with 15, Larry Owens with 14, Jerome Dyson with 12 and Latavious Williams with 10.
Defensively, Tulsa forced 20 turnovers and outrebounded the Legends by a 42-40 margin.
The win, which included five lead changes and three ties, marked Tulsa’s seventh victory in the last nine games. The 66ers also improved to 2-1 on the season against the Legends.
Leading Texas with a double-double was Joe Alexander with 28 points and 14 rebounds, both game-highs. Adding 20 points for the Legends was Dominique Jones.
