66ers Open Road Trip with Blast of Idaho


BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 26, 2010 – The Tulsa 66ers (8-5) began their five game road trip with a 102-88 victory over the Idaho Stampede (2-12) Sunday evening inside Qwest Arena. Zabian Dowdell led Tulsa with 18 points and Ryan Reid and Marcus Lewis each pulled down nine rebounds for the 66ers.

Also in double figures scoring for Tulsa was Elijah Millsap with 16, Jerome Dyson with 15, Latavious Williams with 13 and Tweety Carter with 12.

Defensively, the 66ers forced a season-high 17 steals, including five from Dyson and three from Williams, and forced 21 Stampede turnovers.

Idaho was led in scoring by Seth Tarver with 18 points. Carlos Wheeler recorded the game’s only double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Also scoring in double figures was Salim Stoudamire with 15 points and Antoine Walker with 13.

Idaho led by a 22-19 score after the first period before the 66ers outscored the Stampede by a 28-17 margin in the second to build a lead of eight, 47-39, heading into halftime. Tulsa never trailed in the second half.

The 66ers will continue their road trip on Tuesday, Dec. 28, by taking on the Reno Bighorns at 9 p.m. CT inside the Reno Events Center.
