Akin’s Natural Foods Celebrates 75 Years
June 18, 2010 – Akin’s Natural Foods Market, one of Oklahoma’s largest natural foods stores, will celebrate its 75th Anniversary with an exciting Community Event July 10 from 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m. The celebration will be held at all three Tulsa area locations; 51st and Memorial, 31st and Harvard, and 121st and Memorial.
Akin’s Community Event will feature Tulsa Hub, a non-profit riding club dedicated to providing bicycles for Tulsa area school children and showing them safe routes for bike riding, who will be at all three Akin’s locations taking donations of new and used bicycles.
Akin’s 51st and Memorial store will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 9:30-2:30, and Up with Trees, Ozone Alert and the Tulsa Zoo will have giveaways from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Also on hand will be the Adoption Van, complete with adoptable pets, and the Greenstar Recycling interactive trailer will be on site for Akin’s guests of all ages to learn about recycling.
To encourage participation with our community partners, beginning at 11:00 a.m., the first 100 customers at every store will receive a free gift upon checkout.
The celebration will also include dozens of delicious natural and organic food and beverage samples, drawings for lots of great prizes; including a Weber grill, ice chests full of delicious picnic essentials, and gift certificates. Vendors from some great supplements lines will also be providing samples, and Natural Product Specialists will be on hand to answer questions.
