Amanda Moore Named Site Principal at Jenks West Elementary by Jenks Schools

Jenks Public Schools has announced Amanda Moore as the new Site Principal at Jenks West Elementary.
Moore, who served as a Building Principal at West Elementary for the past four years, brings a total of 22 years of experience into her new role. She has been a classroom teacher at every elementary grade level (PK-4), and has worked at West Elementary since 2012.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue at West Elementary in this new role,” stated Moore. “This school means so much to me, and the support I have received from our staff members and parents has been truly overwhelming. I am so thankful to our district and our other administrators for placing their trust in me, and I am incredibly excited to welcome our students and staff back to West Elementary for the upcoming year. I look forward to carrying on the culture of continuous improvement and collaboration we have at Jenks Public Schools. This is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Moore began her career in education at Evangelistic Temple School in Tulsa before spending 11 years at Liberty Public Schools teaching kindergarten, first grade, and third grade. At Liberty, Moore began the first kindergarten/first grade multi-age program and was nominated for teacher of the year. In 2012, she accepted a position at West Elementary as a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten teacher in the Jenks multi-age program at Grace Living Center. Moore worked closely with Grace Living Center employees, as well as JPS administrators, to develop intergenerational learning experiences between her students and residents at Grace Living Center. She spent one year as a Curriculum Resource Instructor at West Elementary before moving to her role as Building Principal in 2017. Moore played a critical role on the team of staff members and administrators at West Elementary that helped the school achieve its current status as an International Baccalaureate School in the Primary Years Program.
“I have no doubt Amanda Moore will step in and do a sensational job as Site Principal at West Elementary,” declared Dr. Stacey Butterfield, Superintendent of Jenks Public Schools. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to the position, and she is extremely well-respected by her colleagues. Most importantly, she has a heart for students. Her empathy and concern for the well-being of her students shines through in everything she does. I know she will continue to work tirelessly to create an exceptional learning environment at West Elementary.”
Moore, a native of Orrville, Ohio, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Oral Roberts University and a Masters degree in Educational Administration and Curriculum Supervision from the University of Oklahoma. She and her husband, Jeremy, have one daughter, Isabella.
