American Background Checks Partners for Volunteers Screening
American Background Checks, a leading, national provider of employment background screening, and Volunteer Central of Greater Tulsa have partnered to introduce Volunteer Check.
This new initiative is available exclusively to members of Volunteer Central to provide affordable criminal background checks for prospective volunteers and staff.
This program is an important aspect of a local effort by American Background Checks to reach deep into the community and provide educational, legislative and hands-on support to the non-profit sector. A portion of all fees collected will be returned to Volunteer Central to help support its many community services.
“Volunteer Check is incredibly easy and a very valuable tool for the non-profit community,” says Mary Finley, executive director of Tulsa Volunteer Central. “American Background Checks offers a very affordable check with a quick turnaround time. Volunteer organizations cannot do any better than this.
American Background Check President Julie Hakman comments, “We are very excited about this new initiative. It’s a chance for us to help make a difference and distinguish ourselves in the community in which we live and work.”
Volunteer Check provides a comprehensive report that includes national criminal data from criminal courts, state criminal record repositories, probation, prison parole and release files, sex offender registries and other government agencies.
It also provides search results on the volunteer’s previous residence addresses, whether a Social Security Number has been issued, maiden and/or married names associated with the SSN and whether the volunteer’s SSN is currently being used by another individual. Additionally, a Wanted Persons Security Screen will be processed that cross-references the volunteer with multiple U.S./foreign sanctions and watch lists, as well as National Wants and Warrants.
“Unfortunately, nonprofit organizations can be easy targets for criminals who prey on their clients. Our company’s mission is to provide increased access to the highest quality information at affordable prices to those organizations that are dedicated to providing our children and other vulnerable populations with properly screened volunteers,” comments Hakman
