Atkinson’s Hammer Auction Group presents the “Treasure of Art and Architecture Auction” preview on Friday, April 1, 7:00 p.m. and live auction, Saturday, April 2, 11:00 a.m.
Open to the public, free of charge, both events will be held at the Tulsa Event Center, 2625 S. Memorial Drive and via broadcast, real time, on www.proxibid.com, Saturday, April 2.
From former residents of the Motsenbocker House in Bartlesville designed by Bruce Goff and collections from around the state, the patrons generously begin to share decades of collecting from around the world. From well-preserved southwest native art, pottery, post-modern artwork, Japanese woodcut prints, architectural renderings and personal correspondence, the items offered at auction will attract collectors worldwide.
The auction includes several original pieces of hand-drawn and colored architectural renderings by Bruce Goff, several pieces of Tiffany, artwork by Willard Stone, Woody Crumbo, Pabsetopah, the Kiowa Five and others. Several pieces of silver and glassware are also included in the auction of over 250 items.
“Thanks to Proxibid, we will be able to reach a larger audience than ever before,” says Jim Atkinson, of Atkinson’s Hammer Auction Group. “To our knowledge, Bruce Goff items such as these have not been offered at public auction before. Proxibid enables us to add more value to our clients and to pass that value on to the consumer who is interested in owning the wonderful items offered at auction but who cannot make it to the live event.”
“The caliber of items being offered at the Treasures of Art and Architecture Auction are equal to the type of items consumers find at Christies and other large auction houses,” says Bruce Hoberman, CEO, Proxibid. “We are thrilled to bring our technical expertise to this auction, and to enable Atkinson’s Hammer Auction Group to reach a broad selection of people across the globe who want to participate in this auction.” Online attendees simply log on to Proxibid.com to register for the auction and are seamlessly directed to the auction they wish to attend.
