With the air turning cooler and the leaves changing colors, it is already time to start planning for holiday events. The Cherry Street Association wants to help area residents kick off their holiday shopping and jump-start their holiday spirit with A Very Cherry Christmas.

On Saturday, December 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., merchants up and down 15th Street from Harvard to Peoria Avenues will offer special refreshments, drawings, decorations, and more. Te Kei’s Chinese Asian Kitchen will offer free dessert to diners with the purchase of any noodle or rice bowl. Tulsa Scooters will provide free coffee and hot chocolate for visitors. Deco to Disco will offer hot caramel apple cider with whipped cream for holiday shoppers. Interior Concepts will offer refreshments such as cookies and hot spiced tea and will hold a drawing for a free handcrafted Christmas rug.

At Deborah’s Day Spa, hair artists Mickee Hicks and LaDonna Berry will offer $5 off any chemical service and free hairstyling consultations to get shoppers ready for holiday parties. Master nail technicians Sonya Brown and LaKeitha Smith will offer $5 off nail enhancements and estetician P. J. Procter will offer $3 off on waxing services. Massage therapist Steve Tiblow will give free chair massages.

Mama Trizza’s Pottery Shop and Joseph Gierek Fine Art Studio will also participate in the festivities.

The German-American Society’s annual Christkindlmarkt will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. that day, featuring authentic German and European crafts, gifts, and food that will be available for purchase.

Some of the other Very Cherry Christmas events include strolling carolers, trolley rides, and Toys for Tots collection points. Santa Claus will make an appearance at Farmers Insurance and a parade will begin at 4:30 p.m.

For more information about the Very Cherry Christmas events, contact one of the merchants listed or visit the Cherry Street Association web site at www.cherryst.com.
