AWC Holds Open House


The Association for Women in Communications () Tulsa chapter held its annual open house Aug. 27 at the Harwelden Mansion, located at 2210 S. Main.

Hosting the event were, from left, Molly Jarvis, Betty Casey and Martha Cantrell. This yearly event is the kickoff to the organization’s season. Throughout the year, , a networking organization, hosts monthly lunch programs. The upcoming fall program’s theme is “New Media, Old Media,” which will focus on community engagement, social media, breaking news and crisis communication. The Association for Women in Communications is the prevailing communications organization for those working and serving in diverse, but related, communications professions. The Tulsa professional chapter has a longstanding and strong presence in the community. The chapter is 120+ members strong, representing a variety of communications disciplines in Tulsa and surrounding areas.
