AWC hosts 3rd Annual Social Media Workshop


TULSA, Okla. — Social media is the newest and sometimes most confusing communications tool. Learn the dynamics of social media and how to implement a personal touch to your everyday networks at the Association for Women in Communication’s 3 annual Social Media Workshop, “You’ve been poked … Personal Contact in a Technical World”, Tuesday, April 6, from 8:30 a. m. to 4:00 p.m. at OSU-Tulsa, 700 North Greenwood Avenue.

Featured speaker is Janet Fouts, Senior Partner for Tatu Digital Media, an award winning web design and strategy firm out of Silicon Valley.  Janet is a 15-year veteran of social media and online marketing and author of “Social Media Success.”  As a social media coach, Fouts will discuss creative and efficient ways using real world examples and practical techniques to make a successful social media engagement personal. Fouts will also discuss the importance of social media policies and how to implement them.  
Other programs include “Mobile Technology”, “Generational Differences within the Workplace and Technology,” and “Netiquette: the New Age of Etiquette.” Also a panel of Tulsa social media professionals will share personal, local information about “The Digital Handshake”, social media and web marketing strategies for making and keeping professional relationships.
AWC is a national professional organization that champions the advancement of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communications era.
