TU WATCH PARTY: The University of Tulsa held a watch party at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on March 16 to learn who the Golden Hurricane would play in the first round of the Tournament. Jubilation exploded when announced that Tulsa would play in the first round. Tulsa received a No. 13-seed and the Bruins a No. 4 seed and would play on Friday, March 21 in a South Region game in San Diego, Calif.

has posted a 26-8 overall record this year. Tulsa entered the tournament with an 11-game winning streak and has posted an overall 21-12 record during the season. This is Tulsa’s 15th tournament appearance overall and first since the 2002-03 season.

The Golden Hurricane won the Conference Championship after finishing in a four-way tie for the league’s regular season title. Tulsa won the C- tournament with a 69-60 win over Louisiana Tech and received C-USA’s automatic bid to the Championship.

Tulsa and have played five times before as the Bruins held a 3-2 series advantage. The Hurricane has won the last two meetings before the San Diego game, including a 112-102 victory against the 17th-ranked Bruins in a 1994 Tournament first round game, and a 77-76 overtime game in the 1996 season opener as a part of the preseason .
