BAPAC Director Named

NEW LEADERSHIP: Kim Vento will replace Mark Frie as director of the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.

Kim Vento, 22-year Broken Arrow Public Schools employee, was recently named director of the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.

Vento replaces Mark Frie, who recently took the position as director of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Frie and Vento managed the BAPAC alongside one another since 2014.

“Kim was there every step of the way during my tenure at Broken Arrow,” Frie said. “Her skillset and knowledge about the theatre, her passion for students, her dedication to customer service and her attention to detail make her the perfect choice for the position.”

Vento began her career with Broken Arrow Public Schools at the school sites and later became the assistant director of technology integration, where she worked with teachers and administrators on software implementations and training. She also worked for the Pride of Broken Arrow for 16 years as a color guard instructor. Knowing her passion was for the arts, she began working with Frie in 2014 as the BAPAC events director.

Since opening in 2009, the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center (BAPAC) has acted as the cornerstone of the arts district in downtown Broken Arrow and is a premier venue for Broken Arrow Public Schools’ () fine arts programs, Broadway tours, concerts, specialty shows and various community events.

“It is truly a privilege to be able to continue serving Broken Arrow’s students and community through our one-of-a-kind performing arts facility,” says Vento. “In BAPAC’s eight years of existence, it has brought arts and education together while providing the city with a top level entertainment venue.”
