Battle is on for Team SemGroup Showdown at JQH

Cristie Kerr has taken a 500 to 430 point lead over Natalie Gulbis in the Team SemGroup competition, which was established in February in Tulsa.
Team SemGroup is made up of six LPGA Tour professionals who are competing against each other in a points race that concludes at the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic presented by SemGroup, September 4 – 10, at Cedar Ridge Country Club. Team SemGroup will be competing for a first-place $25,000 donation to the winning player’s charity of choice.
Gulbis was the sole Team SemGroup member to earn points at the recent LPGA Corning Classic. She finished 11 under par, bringing home a six-way T7 finish and 26 Team SemGroup points.
Team SemGroup points through May 31 are: Cristie Kerr, 500; Natalie Gulbis, 430; Helen Alfredsson, 220; Stacy Prammanasudh, 174; Christina Kim, 91; and Carin Koch, 15.
The points competition among Team SemGroup began with the SBS Open at Turtle Bay, the first official event of the LPGA season, and will conclude with the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic presented by SemGroup, the 25th official event of the LPGA season. Points are awarded when Team SemGroup members finish or tie within the top-20 in all official tournaments and are based on the money distribution for each tournament, with every $1,000 earned being the equivalent of one point. Points are doubled at the LPGA’s four major championships and have triple value at the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic presented by SemGroup. After the Tournament, first place in the points race will win $25,000 for her charity of choice.
