Best of TCC Honors Alumni from Across Globe

Tulsa Community College honored the 2012 Best of on May 31 at the Hyatt Regency. The annual banquet honored those who have graduated and/or attended and are making positive impacts in their communities and economies. This year’s honorees hail from Tulsa, Sapulpa, Sand Springs, New York City, Russia and more.
This year’s honorees, professions and places of employment are: Amanda Bargas, clinical resource nurse, Saint Francis Health System; Rhyan Barlow, manager in training, Capital One; Angela Brown, prevention education coordinator, /Call Rape; Sarah Dicks, youth minister, Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Parish; Maja Djukic, Ph.D, assistant professor, New York University College of Nursing; Kimberly Glynn, director of ministries, Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Parish; Isaac Hiriart, director, Education Outreach Center, Tulsa Community College; Britton Howerton, interior designer, Selser Schaefer Architects; Linda Jack, RN charge nurse, Select Specialty Hospital; Karen Johnson, risk associate, Capital One; Chauncey Kila, masonry instructor, TulsaTech; Angela Lawrence, co-owner and managing director, AcrobatAnt; Gail L. In addition to honorees, four current students were recognized at the event as this year’s Alumni & Friends Scholarship recipients. The students who received scholarships were Blake Neece, Nicole Massongil, Dawn Ross and Jonnie Wilson. This scholarship is funded by proceeds of the Best of event, and students are chosen based on academic excellence.
Dave Lopez, secretary of commerce for the State of Oklahoma, was the keynote speaker.
Corporate table sponsors for the 2012 Best of Awards Dinner were Accent Realtors, AcrobatAnt, Karen Keith and Pat Malloy, Select Specialty Hospitals, Selser Schaefer Architects, Tulsa Community College, Capital One Auto Finance, Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, Cancer Treatment Centers of America and Tulsa Tech.
The banquet also serves as a fundraiser for the Foundation, which provides scholarships for students and grants for faculty, among other endeavors.
