Bicycle for Recycle

REWARDS OF RECYCLING: Tulsa sixth Grader Bennie Hyatt won a brand new Trek bicycle on behalf of America Recycles Day, Inc.. His name was one of five drawn from some 200,000 entrants who all pledged to recycle more and purchase more environmentally friendly products. The award was presented at the Central Tulsa Depot by the Metropolitan Environmental Trust (M.e.t.), a local agency that promotes recycling in the metro area with recycling drop-off locations, educational materials, speeches and various events. The M.e.t. is a division of America Recycles Day, Inc., a national all-volunteer, non-profit organization which seeks to encourage Americans to recycle and buy recycled products. They also sponsor America Recycles Day, held annually on November 15 to promote the social, economic, and environmental benefits of recycling and purchasing recycled materials. The lightweight, 25-speed Trek bicycle was made of recycled Alpha Aluminum Framing from Lee’s Bicycle Shop.
