Big 12 Announces Selected Football Television Broadcasts

Kansas City, Mo. – The Big 12 has announced the preliminary portion of its 2010 football television schedule with games to air on ABC, ESPN and FSN.

Eighteen contests have been chosen to be broadcast as part of the Big 12 rights packages. With the addition of road games that are part of other league’s television agreements, a total of 28 regular-season games are already slated for air over a national network. In addition, the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship will be aired by ABC in prime time for the 10th year when it is played in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas for the second consecutive season.

Three games are slated for a unique ‘reverse-mirror’ arrangement on ABC and ESPN2. Iowa State at Iowa, Florida State at Oklahoma and Nebraska at Washington will be televised in certain regions on ABC, with the rest of the nation receiving those games on ESPN2 for a full national broadcast. ABC and FSN will select additional games throughout the season. The majority of the televised games will be announced on a 12-day notice. ABC also has rights to exercise a six-day option three times during the season.

The Big 12 will begin its 15th year in 2010 with ABC as its national network television partner and with FSN for its cable rights.
