The Bixby Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announces they have officially voted to change the name of the Chamber to, The Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce. The announcement coincides with the relocation of their offices and staff to the SpiritBank Event Center at 10441 Regal Boulevard in Bixby, effective immediately.
“Because we are experiencing such tremendous growth, we have seen Tulsa businesses literally grow into Bixby,” states Jeremy Lott, Bixby Metro Chamber Chairman of the Board. “We feel that in order to accurately describe the make up of our current and future partners, we needed to develop a new name. Additionally, with the move to the SpiritBank Event Center, this new identity will help grow the awareness of who the Chamber is serving.”
According to officials, the relocated offices will provide partners of the Chamber more accessibility to its staff and resources, improving communication and growth within the Chamber, as well as enhancing outreach to other cities, such as Jenks, Glenpool, Broken Arrow and south Tulsa.
“It was clear we needed a central location to become more accessible to our partners,” says Lisa Navrkal Bixby Metro Chamber President. “The SpiritBank Event Center is perfectly situated to help us meet the needs of our business community for years to come. I believe the new name and strategic location of our headquarters demonstrate the forward thinking vision we have for Bixby and the entire region.”
The new location will also allow Chamber Metro partners to utilize the SpiritBank Event Center for more events centered on generating business growth within the community, including business seminars, the annual gala, networking functions such as the monthly partner luncheons as well as community events such as the Taste of Bixby. As the leading voice for businesses in the community, the Chamber will utilize its offices to showcase the many benefits and attractions of Bixby, South Memorial Drive, and the SpiritBank Event Center to businesses and visitors to the city.
“I believe we’re entering an incredible, thriving new season for Bixby and the Chamber,” says Navrkal. “Our ongoing goal is to coordinate a strategic approach to realize the fantastic, explosive growth potential Bixby has while continuing to meet the needs of our community leaders and businesses. We believe these changes, both strongly symbolic, are a perfect way to show our continued commitment to this goal.” The Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce immediately received a lot of community feedback about the new name and location. “All feedback from our current chamber partnership has been positive. We have had a 42 percent increase in new member growth. We are reaching out to not only Bixby businesses but also to South Tulsa businesses,” adds Navrkal. The name change has provided a way to reach out to even more businesses and this will ultimately be a key step in reaching the goal of the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce.
