Bixby Sparta Gala a Victim of COVID-19
GALA SUPPORTERS: Member of the Gala committee, volunteers and parents were all smiles as the showed their support to this year’s Gala.
The Bixby Sparta Gala, an annual highlight fundraising event sponsored by the Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation (BEEF), was cancelled from its April 2 date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. BEEF scholarship recipients are listed on page 12 of this issue of the Bixby Breeze.
This year’s gala would have been the fourth to raise money for Bixby Public Schools teachers and students, and would have been held April 4 at the River Spirit Hotel & Casino.
Before the event, Erin McIntyre, Bixby Sparta Gala chair, said, “The generosity and involvement of our community and Bixby families is what makes this evening a success. Last year, we were able to donate over $100,000 to Bixby Public Schools. This year we hope to work together again and raise even more money for our school to support our teachers in every way we can.”
