BOK Center Finishes Year As 13th Ranked Venue in U.S.


The -managed Center finished 2013 ranked 13th in the United States and 34th in the world in Pollstar Magazine’s 2013 Year End Top 200 Arena Venues based on ticket sales. During this period, the Center reported ticket sales of 426,536 tickets sold.

“What a great way to conclude our fifth anniversary year,” says John Bolton, regional vice president and general manager. “The credit goes to Tulsans who continue to buy tickets to our shows and have embraced the Center since it opened.”

Throughout 2013, the Center hosted 21 of the top 100 worldwide tours including Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Eagles, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and Muse.

The Center kicked off 2014 with a string of big concert announcements including Dave Matthews Band, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry. Upcoming concerts include Imagine Dragons (February 22), Winter Jam (March 9), Miley Cyrus (March 13), Third Day & Skillet (March 15), Lady Antebellum (March 28), Cher (March 29) and George Strait (April 19). The O2 (London) topped the overall rankings and the Barclays Center (Brooklyn) garnered the top United States spot. The Center was the highest ranking venue in North America and second highest overall behind Phones 4u Arena (Manchester, United Kingdom). Several other facilities made the top 200 including Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena (ranked 38thin the United States) and INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan. (ranked 39th in the United States).

The rankings are determined by tickets sold worldwide for concerts from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013. Pollstar totals do not include tenant sports team ticket counts or other non-ticketed events, such as the Bassmaster Classic, which drew more than 100,000 guests to the Center and Cox Business Center in February 2013.
