BOK Center Nominated for Arena of the Year

The -managed Center has been nominated for Arena of the Year by Pollstar Magazine, a weekly trade publication for the concert industry. This is the fourth consecutive year the Center has been nominated for a Pollstar Award.
Also receiving nominations in the Arena of the Year category were: Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, Tenn.), Consol Energy Center (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Madison Square Garden (New York, N.Y.), Staples Center (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia, Pa.).
“We are thrilled to be nominated again for Arena of the Year and are honored to be included with some of the most iconic venues in our industry,” says General Manager John Bolton. “This nomination recognizes not only the hard work of our staff at the Center but also the promoters who continue to bring great shows to Tulsa.”
The Center hosted many of the top industry tours in 2012 including Michael Jackson IMMORTAL – Cirque du Soleil, George Strait, The Black Keys, Roger Waters “The Wall Live”, Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks, Kiss and Motley Crue, Journey, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Still on the schedule for 2012 are Carrie Underwood, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Eric Church and Cirque du Soleil Dralion.
The Center opened in the fall of 2008 and was nominated for Best New Major Concert Venue in 2009. In 2010 and 2011, the Center was nominated for Arena of the Year. Bolton was nominated and won Facility Executive of the Year in 2011.
The winner is determined by Pollstar readers and will be announced at the 24th Annual Pollstar Awards on Feb. 7, 2013, in Los Angeles.
