Broken Arrow City Manager Declares Water Emergency
Due to a substantial break in a main water line into Broken Arrow from Pryor, the City Manager has declared a water emergency for all resident and business customers.
Residents are being asked to use water for essential use only, i.e. cooking and bathing.
City pools and splash pads will be closed until further notice, fire hydrant testing has been suspended and Battle Creek Golf Course will cease watering any nonessential portions of course until the repair is complete.
“Due to the line break and the rapidly decreasing supply of water within the distribution system the City Manager has declared a water emergency,” said Director of Communications Stephanie Higgins. “The storage tanks are at critically low levels and the line break is prohibiting the City from receiving the water volume needed to supply the city.”
Staff anticipates the line repair will begin in the hour and should take 8-10 hours.
The City of Broken Arrow will continue to monitor water levels and will communicate any changes.
