Leaha Kopp has been named department manager of education of Oklahoma State University Medical Center. She has been an education instructor for OSUMC since 1998 and has over 17 years experience in non-profit management and education programs.
First Fidelity Bank, a nationally chartered, privately held full-service financial institution, recently announced the addition of Corey Bates as assistant vice president, director of retail management for Tulsa.
Bates will be responsible for market growth and profitability, long-term planning and oversight of consumer accounts. Additionally, he will manage the retail banking staff in the region, providing direction and guidance to achieve market objectives.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma.
The University of Tulsa College Of Law has announced the hiring of Calvin Moniz as assistant director for law alumni relations.
Moniz, also a part-time law student at TU, previously served as director of development for TU’s McFarlin Library.
Moniz will be meeting with various alumni over the next few months. Upon completion of the college’s renovated John Rogers Hall in early September, Moniz will be located in the dean’s suite of offices in John Rogers Hall.
Trust Company of Oklahoma has named Shawn Crisp, , as its corporate compliance officer.
Crisp, a native Oklahoman recently passed the American Institute of CPA’s Accredited in Business Valuation exam.
He received both his bachelor of business administration and master of business administration from the University of Tulsa in 2006 and 2008, respectively.
Graduating magna cum laude, Crisp was recognized as the Outstanding Marketing Graduate of the 2006-07 graduating class. He also was valedictorian of the 2003 graduating class at Inola High School.
Tulsa-based Explorer Pipeline has named Don Wiruth as its director of engineering. Wiruth, a veteran in the fuel transportation field, assumed his new position recently.
Wiruth holds a civil engineering degree from Kansas State University and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Oklahoma. He is an active member of the Tulsa Pipeliners Club, the Rotary Club of Tulsa, City of Tulsa Ethics Committee and the board of directors of Oklahoma Methodist Manor.
Kathy Shook, president of Shoppers, Inc., has become certified as the only customer service Instructor in the Southwest through the Service Quality Institute in Minneapolis.
This demonstrates Shook’s skills, knowledge and commitment to maintaining a level of expertise in the customer service-training field.
A lifelong Tulsan, Shook founded Shoppers, Inc. as a woman-owned business in 1986 after serving 10 years with State Federal Savings Association.
In recognition of her role in developing and implementing student policies, Dr. Evelyn Woods, assistant dean of student affairs at Northeastern State University, was an award recipient at the 2011 American College Personnel Association convention in Baltimore.
Woods received the Commission for Administrative Leadership Award for Excellence in Institutional Change.
When formulating policies or programs for student affairs, Woods says she receives input and assistance from all corners of campus.

The Child Abuse Network, Tulsa ‘s Children’s Advocacy Center, announced the 2011-2012 board of directors at its recent annual appreciation reception. The board of directors elected Kala Sharp to succeed Chris Woosley as president.
New members elected to the board of directors include Susan Gross, Tina Wells of Schnake Turnbo Frank, PR, and Melissa Sanden of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Presidential Appointees include Kim Williamson, Carmen Clayton of TD Williamson, and Heather Cupp of Hall Estill.
Sky Fitness & Wellbeing, a local full-service health and wellness facility, has hired an operations manager. Rob Boyd will be responsible for overseeing all business operations and ensuring Sky is efficient in exceeding customer expectations.
Boyd was formerly regional manager of Facility Services, a corporation specializing in providing custodial, grounds and physical plant services to colleges and universities. He was also the director of operations for Jani-King, the world’s largest commercial cleaning franchise company.
Boyd’s past experience with cleaning facilities will be beneficial as sanitation is a very important aspect of Sky’s vision to become a recognized leader in providing state-of-the-art facilities, programs and amenities for their members.
