Waller & Company Public Relations, Inc. has announced the promotion of Haley Downing to the role of account manager. Downing joined the firm in mid-September of 2009 as account coordinator. She coordinates the Lafarge Tulsa Cement Plant Oklahoma Rocks and Minerals program, is a team member on the Cancer Center Treatment of America account and manages mobile applications for firm clients.

She is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, emphasis in public relations.
Utica Park Clinic Gastroenterology welcomes Robert T. Wells, M.D., a board-eligible gastroenterologist.

Dr. Wells graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2003, completed his internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa in 2006 and completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Kentucky in 2010. Dr. Wells’ professional associations include memberships with the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

The governor-appointed Okla-homa Music Hall of Fame Board announced the election of officers for 2010-11. Sue Harris was elected chair; Andrea Chancellor, vice chair, and Hugh Foley, secretary. The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame is a governor-appointed, 7-member state Board charged with honoring and recognizing the outstanding contribution that Oklahoma musicians, performers and artists have made to the state’s history and culture.

Utica Park Clinic Owasso welcomes Nicole Chainakul, M.D., a physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Chainakul graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2006 and completed her residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City in June 2010. Dr. Chainakul’s professional associations include memberships with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and with the Kansas City Gynecology Society.

SouthCrest is pleased to announce that Jim Harjo, D.O., Family Medicine, will be joining SouthCrest Family & Maternity Care. Prior to this, he was physician clinic director for the Creek Nation Community Hospital. He is an active member of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Family Practice and the American Osteopathic Association. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Tulsa and obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa.

Paul Whitham, D.O., will also be joining SouthCrest Medical Group. Dr. Whitham is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Whitham received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ingham Regional Medical Center/Michigan State University in Lansing, Mich.

Utica Park Clinic – Central welcomes Ronald Mark Guy, M.D., , a physician specializing in Otorhinolaryn-gology. Dr. Guy graduated from Texas A&M College of Medicine in 1986. He completed an internship at Louisiana State University in 1987 before spending a year in General Surgery training at Rush-St. Lukes University Medical Center in Chicago. Following his post-medical school training, Dr. Guy completed his specialty training in Otorhinolaryngology at -Shreveport Medical Center in 1992.

Cherokee Nation Entertainment, which operates Cherokee Casinos and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, has promoted Ken Maguire to senior director of marketing at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. In this position, Maguire is responsible for media planning, property promotions and special events. He also manages the Cherokee Star Rewards Club player development program. Maguire began his career in the gaming industry 15 years ago after attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania, majoring in finance.

Flintco’s Vernelle Chase received the “Lewis B. Ketchum Excellence in Business” award at the recent 13th Annual Dream Keepers Awards Dinner. The award, presented by the Greater Tulsa Area Indian Affairs Commission, is one of the most prestigious awards given to individuals in the Native American Community. Chase, tribal liaison for Flintco’s Native American Division and member of the Gros-Ventre tribe, has more than 13 years of experience in construction management for Native American clients.

Jerry Goldman, assistant general manager at the Center, has also taken on the responsibilities of Midwest Regional Booking Manager for the Sports and Entertainment Division, where he will oversee booking in all Midwest venues that manages. Goldman joined the -Tulsa staff in 2007 and has been responsible for booking the Center and Tulsa Convention Center for ticketed events ever since.
