Utica Park Clinic welcomes Robert F. Howard, M.D., who is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Howard began seeing patients on June 21 on the 3rd Floor of Utica Park Clinic – Central, 1245 S. Utica Ave. Dr. Howard graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1983; completed his internship at Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in 1987, and completed his fellowship in Rheumatology at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta in 1988.

Family Medical Care, a service of Utica Park Clinic, welcomes Carol Howard, M.D., a Family Medicine physician. Dr. Howard graduated from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in 1984 and completed her residency through the Family Practice Residency Program in 1987. Dr. Howard has held various physician positions throughout her career in Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma and New Guinea. She is board-certified with the American Board of Family Medicine. Other certifications include the American Academy of Family Physicians, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Her office is located in the Family Medical Care clinic at 7600 S. Lewis Ave. in Tulsa.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma () has named John Harper as vice president for external affairs, replacing Bill McKamey, who has retired. Harper returns to Oklahoma, where he started his career at , from PSO’s parent , where he was vice president for business logistics. In his new role, Harper will have responsibilities for PSO’s governmental and environmental affairs, community relations, economic development and corporate communications functions. Harper earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from Evangel University in 1977 and a master’s degree in business administration from Oral Roberts University in 1980.

Stinnett & Associates was recently certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Started in 2001 by Managing Director Melinda Stinnett and headquartered in Tulsa, Stinnett & Associates has continued to grow and expand its operations into other markets including Oklahoma City, Houston and San Antonio. The WBENC is the nation’s leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women.

The Transportation Advisory Board elected new officers, who will serve for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. Daniel Keating was elected chairman, and Jamie Jamieson was elected vice-chairman. Keating is president of Summit Consolidated Group, a national brokerage and insurance company with offices in Tulsa, Dallas, Hartford, Phoenix, Rogers and Little Rock, Ark. Jamieson is a partner in a Tulsa development company, The Village Builders, known for its “Village at Central Park” urban brownstones near South Peoria Avenue and East Eighth Street.

The trustees of the Zarrow Family Foundations announced that Bill Major has been hired as executive director. He will oversee the grant making activities of The Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Maxine and Jack Zarrow Family Foundation and the Zarrow Families Foundation. Major will serve as the first executive director for the three foundations. He joins the Zarrow Family Foundations after nearly two decades at Senior Services. “We are excited to have Bill join us and know he will help us further our mission to provide support for the disadvantaged,” says Judy Kishner, trustee, The Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation.

Chinowth & Cohen Realtors is pleased to announce Broker Associate and Relocation Director Cindy Manchester has been awarded the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist, the largest not for profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Realtors who receive the designation have completed advanced courses and have demonstrated professional expertise in the field of residential real estate. Fewer than 38,000 realtors nationwide have earned the credential.

Hall Estill has announced Casey Cooper, David Newsome and Andrea Hoskins of Cooper Newsome have joined the firm. The new additions highlight Hall Estill’s long-standing commitment to strengthening its presence in the legal profession. Casey Cooper has more than 30 years of experience, including several years of complex litigation, such as asbestos litigation, Superfund cases and construction litigation. David Newsome has more than 30 years of experience practicing in a variety of areas, including corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, alternate dispute resolutions and administrative law. Andrea Hoskins, an associate at Cooper Newsome, practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, business law and corporate law.

Mark Leach recently opened Caring Transitions, which works with clients and their families who are selling a home, downsizing or liquidating household items by offering transition, relocation and estate sale services. By researching the value of their family heirlooms and valuables, Leach helps families obtain the best possible price. In addition, the company assists the family with every step of the relocation and transition process of their loved ones. Leach decided to open the business in order to reach out to families undergoing transitions.

A Tulsa certified public accountant received the Distinguished Award from the Tulsa Chapter of the Oklahoma Society of s at the organization’s annual members meeting. Lisa Anderson, , a member of the OSCPA since 1996, is a tax manager for Weikel, Johnson, Parris & Rouse, , in Tulsa. The OSCPA Tulsa Chapter, which includes Creek, Tulsa, Wagoner, Washington and Osage counties, selected Anderson based on criteria measuring community involvement, professionalism and activism in the profession.
