First Fidelity Bank has named Mike McClendon as a commercial relationship manager for the bank’s Tulsa market. He brings more than 22 years of financial strategy and consulting experience to his position. As a commercial relationship manager, McClendon is responsible for the acquisition, retention and expansion of commercial business clients.
Previously, he was the principal of Michael McClendon Independent Consulting, a capital acquisition and business development firm based in Dallas. McClendon received his master of business administration from Southern Methodist University and his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Oklahoma. He holds several professional certificates, including the NASD’s Series 22, 8, 7, 6, and 63 licenses. McClendon also was a member of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s capital committee and of the Association for Corporate Growth. He was active in the Dallas TexChange Association and the Turnaround Management Association as well as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America and the Lake Highlands Methodist Church Music Ministry.
Alaa Alrabbat, M.D., FCCP, has joined the SouthCrest Hospital medical staff as a Pulmonologist/Critical Care specialist and sleep lab medical director. Dr. Alrabbat is available to see adult patients on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Prior to joining the SouthCrest, Alrabbat had a pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine practice at Russellville Hospital in Russellville, Ala., and Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, Ala. He served as director of Sleep Medicine Labs at Russellville and Haleyville Hospitals, and as director of Respiratory Therapy at Russellville Hospital. Dr. Alrabbat is board-certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Alrabbat received his M.D. degree from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria, where he was among the top 10 percent of his class. He completed his internal medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital/Cornell University School of Medicine in New York City. He received post-doctoral fellowship training in Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he also served as Chief Fellow from 2003 to 2004. Alrabbat also received post-doctoral fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Operation Aware of Oklahoma has named Mercedes Millberry as community relations director. She will be coordinating special events, handling media relations and working on fundraising for the organization. Operation Aware equips youth, through prevention education, with the knowledge and skills to make positive life choices. Prior to joining Operation Aware, Millberry worked as the Director of Communication for Holland Hall.
Kelley Phillips is promoted to staffing consultant with MyStaf. Phillips has been with MyStaf since July of 2007. She has a strong background in Marketing and Promotions and has made a natural transition into the clerical division of the staffing industry. Phillips graduated from Northeastern State University in August 2004. If she is not working she is playing with her 3-year-old son and is very close with her family.
Katie Reed joins the Candlewood Suite team in-house as director of sales. Reed graduated from the University of Tulsa, and has experience in sales and promotions from across several different industries and firms in Tulsa. Reed takes care of any preferred rate agreements with local corporations, special event groups, and meeting space on-property. NewsTalk 740 KRMG announced that Dan Potter has been hired as news director and assistant program director for KRMG, Tulsa’s #1 News, Weather and Traffic Station. With 25 years in radio journalism, Potter was most-recently news director and morning news anchor for NewsTalk 820 WBAP in Dallas-Fort Worth. In his 13 years as news director, he helped transition WBAP from a full-service country music station to the Lone Star state’s most listened-to and most honored news-talk outlet. Potter has anchored many major breaking news stories and large events including wall-to-wall anchoring during the attacks on Sept.11, 2001, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Branch Davidian siege at Mount Carmel, the demise of space shuttle Columbia over North Texas and the inauguration of President Bush. Potter has received dozens of honors, including the DuPont-Columbia Silver Baton, Texas AP Broadcasters Awards, Press Club of Dallas Katie Awards, and the national Edward R.
