Bixby Public Schools Focus on Tomorrow
A few months into the new school year and the Bixby Public Schools Board of Education is already looking 10 years into the future, and it looks bright. The Board of Education is comprised of community members dedicated to serving the unique needs of Bixby’s education while upholding federal and state education laws. Members’ jobs are tireless and unpaid, and their efforts promote continued growth in the lives of Bixby’s children.
BPS Hosts Groundbreaking for New School
The rainy weather didn’t dampen spirits as Bixby Public Schools broke ground for its new Bixby West Elementary and Intermediate schools’ location on Sept. 26. illowbrook, construction manager for the project, Board of Education Members, Bixby parents and many other community members gathered in front of three large tractors and a mound of dirt to celebrate the groundbreaking.
Four Bixby Students Attend Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain
The picturesque scenery of Quartz Mountain in southwest Oklahoma serves as the perfect setting for an elite group of young Oklahoma artists, including four students from Bixby, to hone their craft. The Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute () provides an extraordinary learning experience to students selected for the two-week academy, which takes place at Quartz Mountain from June 9-24.

Bixby Students Receive NSU Honors
Northeastern State University recently announced the students named to its President’s and Dean’s honor rolls.
To be included on the President’s Honor Roll, students must have held a 4.0 grade point average for the fall 2017 semester.
Bixby Library to Participate in Native American Celebration
On March 3, the Tulsa City-County Library will begin a monthlong celebration honoring the achievements and accomplishments of Native Americans. Programs will be held throughout locations during March. All library events are free and open to the public.
