The Salvation Army’s Annual Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon and Fashion Show a Successful Event
Just like Santa Claus and little red kettles, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary’s Annual Christmas Luncheon and Fashion Show is a tradition during the holidays. The 66th annual luncheon was held Dec. 4 at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Conference Center in Tulsa. The 2018 theme was “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and a silent auction was held. Civic leader Jackie Poe served as the honorary chair.
Runway Tulsa 2018 Lives Up to Reputation
Tulsa’s fashionable masses showed up in sell out proportions to the latest offering of Runway Tulsa on Oct. 13. It was the third annual production for this high-profile event and the fourth full runway production produced by Productions, which started four years ago with the show known as Tulsa Fashion Week.
Dress for Success to Host Fashion Show and Fundraiser
Dress for Success Tulsa has scheduled its 2018 “An Evening of Empowerment Gala” Fashion Show and Auction for Thursday, October 25 at 6 p.m. at the Mike Fretz Event Center at 11545 East 43rd Street Tulsa. This is the organization’s largest annual charity event which will include dinner with a live and silent auction. The Fashion Show Models are representatives of corporations and businesses in the Tulsa community that demonstrate leadership and success in their respective fields.

Runway Tulsa Coming Sept. 27-30
Runway Tulsa announces its dates for its 2017 week of fashion. The local fashion organization will present four events beginning Wednesday, Sept. 27 and wrapping up with the Runway Finale on Saturday, Sept. 30. In addition to this year’s event schedule, the group announces the formation of the Oklahoma Fashion Initiative, a 501©(3) nonprofit, dedicated to establishing an extensive education program as well as economic development in the form of an apparel manufacturing business.

Runway Tulsa will host a week of events Sept. 14-18, including a media night, fashion show at Utica Square with prize giveaways, a runway show starring Clary Sage’s fashion design program, an Oklahoma artists’ showcase and grand runway finale. Runway Tulsa’s presenting sponsor Lexus of Tulsa will be giving away a Lexus car to benefit children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition through Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Cunningham Jewelry Granted Accreditation
Having met all the necessary requirements and having been qualified, Vicki Cunningham, owner of Cunningham Jewelry and Appraisal Services, has been granted accreditation with the National Association of Jewelry appraisers and has been conferred the professional designation of Certified Master Appraiser. Founded in 1981, the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers () states as its purpose, “to recognize, and make available, the services of highly qualified, informed, experienced, independent and professional appraisers of gems and jewelry to those members of the public requiring such expertise.” It is the only appraisal association in the United States devoted solely to the appraisal of gems and jewelry. With a membership of over 650 and Ms. Cunningham is only the seventh member to achieve the highest designation of Certified Master Appraiser.

Fashion Show Fundraiser
The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will hold its 61st annual Christmas Luncheon and Fashion Show Dec. 3 at the Cox Business Center.
The fashion show will include a silent and live auction with items, such as dinner at a Tulsa Fire Station, a Hard Rock golf getaway package, restaurant gift certificates, tickets to a Kansas City Royals game, and baskets and services from more than 100 local businesses.

Dress for Success Tulsa, 1109 S. Peoria, will hold its annual fashion show and auction, “Step Up To Success,” Oct. 4 at Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 North Greenwood.
Local Boutique Owner Encourages Originality
Courtney Harris was ready for a new adventure. As a mother of five children, she had been a stay-at-home mom for 12 years. Before that, she worked as a realtor and mortgage broker and for herself in various ventures. “I have always had an entrepreneurial mind,” she says. “I have cooked, sewn, knitted, crocheted, altered clothing, painted.”
