Kudos of the Month: TCC Signature Symphony
From the music of John Williams to Bach and Broadway, Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College has entertained for four decades. The 2018-2019 season marks this professional orchestra’s 40th anniversary.
To help celebrate the milestone, Signature Symphony will recreate the debut program, “Bach and Sons, Inc.,” 40 years after the first concert performed by the Tulsa Little Symphony. Tulsa Little Symphony would later become ’s orchestra-in-residence, Signature Symphony. The special performance will be at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26 at the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education on the Southeast Campus.
Kudos of the Month: The Salvation Army
Since 1865 The Salvation Army has worked year-round to help meet the needs of people throughout most of the world. During the Christmas season the Salvation Army becomes visible to many due to the people who volunteer at the its kettles to raise money for those in need.

Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa celebrates an authentic Bavarian culture in the heart of Oklahoma, and represents a setting patterned after Oktoberfest Munich in Bavaria, Germany.
Kudos of the Month: Philbrook
Philbrook Museum of Art, located at 2727 S. Rockford Rd. in the heart of Midtown Tulsa, celebrates the 80th anniversary of its donation to the people of Tulsa this year.
Kudos of the Month: Iron Gate
Iron Gate is celebrating its 40th year with the mission of feeding the hungry of Tulsa every day. Members of Iron Gate feed people in three ways, through the soup kitchen, grocery pantry and Kids Pantry.
Kudos of the Month: Williams
Kudos to Williams, one of the great energy companies world-wide, for keeping its home base through the years in Tulsa. Two brothers, Miller and David Williams, moved their business to Tulsa in 1919. Next year will mark the company’s 100th year
in the city that they helped become “The Oil Capital of the World.”
Kudos of the Month: Circle Cinema
Circle Cinema, located at 10 S. Lewis Ave. in the Kendall-Whittier district, is celebrating its 90th year in operation, having outlasted former Tulsa movie theaters the Orpheum, Ritz, Majestic, Rialto, Delman, Will Rogers and others.
Kudos of the Month: Tulsa International Airport
Kudos to Tulsa International Airport for hosting Frontier Airlines and Via Airlines, who are providing direct flights to key cities from Tulsa. In early April, Frontier announced direct flights from Tulsa to Orlando, San Diego, San Jose and Washington – Dulles. Frontier also offers direct flights to Denver. Via recently announced direct flights to Austin, Texas.

The mission of OK2Grow is to facilitate the development of Oklahoma’s future workforce by creating awareness of careers and promoting pathways that build confidence and excitement for workplace success.
Kudos of the Month: Spartan College
Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology is celebrating its 90th year in operation.
Established in 1928, Spartan has produced over 100,000 technicians and pilots. Trainees have included military personnel, as well as those in Spartan’s various educational programs.
Kudos of the Month: Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts is celebrating 105 years as the leading leadership development organization for girls.
On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low organized the very first Girl Scout troop. G.I.R.L. stands for go-getter, innovator, risk-taker and leader.
Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma serves approximately 13,000 girls and volunteers in 30 eastern Oklahoma counties and is a United Way agency. The national organization as a whole is 2.6 million strong—1.8 million girls and 800,000 adults.

For 100 years, Hillcrest has been a health care leader in Tulsa, providing an environment of hope, health, and healing to patients and their families.
Kudos of the Month: The Salvation Army
With the return of the holiday season, The Salvation Army is increasing its already active efforts to help those in need.
On Nov. 10, The Salvation Army Tulsa Area Command kicked off its Red Kettle Campaign with the goal of helping more than 3,500 families over the holiday season. The organization is also conducting its annual Angel Tree program, which provides Christmas gifts to children in need.
Kudos of the Month: Tulsa State Fair
The Tulsa State Fair has returned, running Sept. 28-Oct. 8 at the Tulsa Fairgrounds, with its 2017 theme “Take a Spin!”.
In addition to the fair’s rides and food offerings, each year the Tulsa State Fair makes an effort to bring a variety of attractions with the goal to entertain and educate. This is done through its livestock shows and 4-H/FFA exhibits, culinary demonstrations, children’s exhibits and grounds shows.
