Camp Fire To Host Incredible Kid’s Day
Let kids know how special they are by joining Camp Fire USA Green Country Council in celebrating Absolutely Incredible Kid Day 2009 on Thursday, March 19. Adults are encouraged to write notes of love and support to the children in their lives, and spend the day participating in child-centered activities.
Camp Fire provides free Absolutely Incredible Kid Day stationery to anyone interested in writing a letter. The paper is available at the Camp Fire office, 706 S. Boston Ave., Tulsa. A color version may be downloaded at www.tulsacampfire.org.
“Children will treasure the letters forever,” says Neil Dieterle, Camp Fire community relations director. “It’s amazing that taking a moment to jot down a few loving and encouraging words has the potential to impact and change lives.” After the letter-writing is through, adults and children are urged to spend the day together, she said.
The day kicks off with a doughnut-decorating party from 7 to 11 a.m. at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, 10128 E. 71st St., Tulsa. Children will receive a free doughnut to embellish with chocolate, sprinkles and other toppings, and an Absolutely Incredible Kid Day sticker, good for discounts at local restaurants, merchants and attractions. A full list of participating vendors is available on the Camp Fire Web site, www.tulsacampfire.org, or by calling (918) 592-2267.
