The Tulsa Press Club recently held the first of three Tulsa City Council debates. All six candidates from Districts One and Five were present.
The Sept. 13 primary led to the win of incumbent Jack Henderson (fifth from left seated) in District One and Karen Gilbert (third from left) in District Five, who defeated incumbent Chris Trail. Gilbert also narrowly defeated former councilor Sam Roop. Michael Willis, left, introduced the candidates and the moderator.
The general election will be held Nov. 8. Of Tulsa’s nine districts, only the winners of Districts One and Five, Henderson and Gilbert, will not have opponents. Additional council debates are scheduled for Oct. 4 and Oct. 25. See www.tulsapressclub.com for more information.
