CAN Film Festival Accepting Entries for Children’s Film Festival
The 2008 CAN Film Festival committee recently announced a call-for-entries for the region’s inaugural children’s film festival to benefit the Child Abuse Network, Inc. Submissions for family-friendly short films are being sought by professional and amateur filmmakers age 10 and older. Submissions should be original works and run no longer than ten minutes.
Submissions must be in DVD format and playable on a standard DVD player. Subject matter should be universally appealing and appropriate for young children to view. Submissions must be received by Friday, Dec. 7, accompanied by a completed entry form and entry fee.
Entry fees are $10 per submission for entrants under age 18 and $20 per submission for entrants age 18 and older. Submissions should be mailed to the Child Abuse Network, Inc., 2829 S. Submissions will be judged by a panel jury prior to the event. The winning films from each age group will be shown and awarded prizes at the 2008 CAN Film Festival to be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Tulsa’s historic Circle Cinema Theatre, located at 10 S. Lewis Ave.
A family-friendly event, the 2008 CAN Film Festival will celebrate all that is magical and fun about going to the movies. The event will showcase three viewings of the winning films to be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Before each viewing, guests will walk the red carpet with all its glitz and glamour. After guests make their way through the flashing light bulbs of the paparazzi and enter the theater, they will experience interactive “movie set” themed activities, sights, sounds and tastes stationed throughout the cinema gallery.
