Cardinals Load Minor League All-Stars Rosters
The Cardinals will be represented by three players tonight at the Midwest League All-Star game in Fort Wayne, Ind. First baseman Matt Adams, Eric Fornataro and OF D’Marcus Ingram were all selected to represent the Quad Cities (A) team tonight at 7 p.m. Ingram was the Cardinals May Minor League Player of the Month. Scott Schneider was named to the team before his promotion to Palm Beach (A).
The Florida State League All-Star game was played Saturday, June 12, in Viera, Fla., at Space Coast Stadium as the South beat the North 5-4 in 10 innings. St. Louis had eight players from their Palm Beach club named to the Florida State team, two of which were voted to the team, but promoted to Double-A (SS Jose Garcia and Casey Mulligan). Mark Diapoules got the start for the South team and went 1.0 IP, allowing no runs on one hit while fanning one. Diapoules was promoted to Springfield (AA) yesterday. Matt Frevert (1.0 IP) and Ramon Delgado (0.2 IP) also pitched scoreless outings. Xavier Scruggs went 3-4 as the DH with a home run.
Springfield (AA) had eight players named to the Texas League All-Star team which will be played on June 30, in Midland, Texas. The Triple-A All Stars will be announced at a later date for the game on Wednesday, July 14 in Lehigh Valley, Pa.
