The Tulsa-based Cheer Dynamix cheerleading squad won an all- expense paid bid to attend the World’s Cheer Competition held in April in Orlando. The squad includes 39 members from schools throughout the region, including Tulsa Public Schools, Cascia Hall, Union, Jenks, Metro Christian, Bixby, Sapulpa, Broken Arrow, Catoosa, Sand Springs and Owasso.

The Cheer Dynamix squad participated recently in Atlanta in the CheerSport Nationals. Almost 900 squads and dance teams attended the event including several college-level teams.
A Cheer Dynamix squad also participated last year and competed against the best from all over the United States, Columbia, New Zealand and Costa Rica. This year there will also be teams from London and Great Britain.

The Cheer Dynamix squad is the only one from Oklahoma to receive a paid bid to the event. Another gym in Edmond received a bid, though it is not paid. Both teams will show their routines later this year in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

In Atlanta, the Cheer Dynamix squad scored a 288 on the last day out of almost 900 squads; this was the second highest score in the competition. The team that scored the highest, a 288.5, is a collegiate squad. Four gyms were represented from Texas. The other states included Georgia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Alabama, California, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky and Michigan.
