ROCKIN’ RIDE: Jim and Donna Grisham showed off their 1957 Chevy at the annual Jenks Car Show held in August at the Riverwalk Aquarium. Jenks Chamber of Commerce President Ruth Littlefield says the event’s estimated attendance for this year was 7,000. A total of 189 classic cars and motorcycles were shown at this year’s event and 50 trophies were presented at the end of the show.

The Jenks Car Show is one of the largest in the Southwest and organizers anticipate numbers increasing by a third for the 2008 show. Jenks Chamber of Commerce employees are already planning the next year’s show.

Fortunately, the Grisham’s won’t have to wait a full 365 days to show off their ‘57 Chevy again. The couple plans to participate in South Tulsa Baptist Church Car Show and Cookout Sept. 30. STBC is located at 10310 S. Sheridan in Tulsa and the event starts at 5 p.m.
