Community Volunteers Needed To Serve As Mediators for the Court System
TULSA, Okla. – Early Settlement Mediation is recruiting individuals from the community who would like to serve the court system as volunteers to mediate disputes and lawsuits. Sponsored by the Supreme Court of Oklahoma and the City of Tulsa, types of mediation cases include consumer/merchant, landlord/tenant, real estate, (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), neighborhood, family and divorce, and adult guardianship.
To apply to become a mediator, call (918) 596-7746 for an application to be mailed or e-mailed, or pick up the application at City Hall, 175 East 2nd Street, Human Rights Department/Early Settlement, Suite 865.
Completed applications must be received no later than April 16, 2010 and should be addressed to the Mediator Selection Committee. There is a free mandatory 20-hour training session for all candidates, May 5, 6 and 7, 2010.
