Owasso Community Resources (OCR) recently hosted the Owasso Needs Forum, which addressed the future human resource needs of the growing community with progressive actions. City leaders met local experts to discuss the future of services and programs in Owasso.
OCR pledged to continue support to various city programs including Owasso Public School’s school supply program, a Thanksgiving basket program that provides a Thanksgiving meal to local families in need as well as a Christmas stocking tree, which will provide gifts to children and senior citizens.
Issues facing the community spurred by rapid growth in the area were also addressed, including increased elderly populations, single mothers and incidence of crime. Various methodologies for combating such issues, like enrichment education, counseling and other proven programs of success, were also discussed.
