Construction Begins On Airport Concourse
Passengers traveling through Tulsa International Airport noticed changes to airline operations beginning Jan. 9 with the move of Delta Airlines from Concourse A to gates B7, B9, and B11. American will stay on Concourse A, however they will relocate one gate from 27 to 22. The moves are necessary in order to begin the renovation of the 40-year-old concourse.
The $23-million project will mirror the recent renovation of Concourse B and result in the replacement of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that support the concourse, improving the operational efficiency of the facility and the comfort of airport guests. Additional changes that passengers can expect are expanded gate areas, new seating with integrated power outlets, new restrooms – including a family restroom, a business center and a new military lounge. The project is funded by passenger facility charges, a $4.50 per ticket fee that is added to every departing ticket sold from . It will take approximately 18 months to complete and will ultimately house the operations for Delta, American and Allegiant Airlines.
