Corporation Commission Quest

KENDRA BLEVINS for GTR Newspapers
Nancy Rothman, president of the Republican Women’s Club of Tulsa, left, invited Dana Murphy to a luncheon held in late May to speak about her campaign for Corporation Commissioner.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission controls75-80 percent of commerce in Oklahoma and is one of the most powerful agencies in the state. Her topic at the luncheon covered campaign issues and where Oklahoma is on the energy front. “I think eastern Oklahoma is incredibly important. There’s a lot of power generated in this part of the state and the oil and gas development in Tulsa is growing,” says Murphy. And on the “Green” front, Murphy says, “We have a call to be more efficient and become stewards of the earth.”
