Cowboy Peter Uihlein Named All-Nicklaus Pick
NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State sophomore Peter Uihlein was one of 24 players
named to the 2010 All-Nicklaus Team it was announced today by the Golf
Coaches Association of America.
Created in 2008, the All-Nicklaus Team honors players from Division I, II,
, and NJCAA for their outstanding play during the past collegiate
season.
Uihlein is coming off a year that saw him earn first-team All-America status
after winning three times, including a victory at the Southeast
Regional. The Orlando, Fla., native also had a pair of runner-up finishes,
placing second at the Big 12 Championship and the Championship.
Overall, Uihlein competed in 13 events for the Cowboys and had seven top-10
finishes to his credit.
Uihlein was selected to the team for the first time in his career and is the
third Cowboy to receive the honor. Last year, Morgan Hoffmann and Rickie
Fowler were named to the squad and Fowler was also selected to the inaugural
team in 2008.
